KAYDEE
ARTIST SHOW GUIDELINES
“The code is more what you'd call
‘guidelines’ than actual rules.”
Quote from Barbossa
from Pirates of the Caribbean.
1.
KayDee hosts only
juried events. This ensures there is a
minimum of overlap and competition amongst the booths. This also encourages a wide variety of
products. Artists wishing to participate
in one of our events must display their wares to KayDee for judging. Artists may email photos of their product,
provide a website link or display in person for approval into an event. Each show is juried separate for
admission.
2.
Booths are on a
“First Come, First Served” basis—meaning when full payment is received. Artists may move to another booth if that
booth is still available. However,
booths may not be changed within 2 weeks of an event. KayDee has the right to move an artist to another booth at any time.
3.
Only handmade
items are allowed in a KayDee show. Handmade
items must be made by the Artist. If an
artist has booked a booth at a show and cannot attend, a representative may be
sent in their stead.
4.
Artist may
decorate their booths as they desire but may not play music or burn candles or incense unless authorized by
KayDee. KayDee will provide music at the
event.
5.
KayDee will
provide all tables, white table coverings and chairs. Artists may not add any tables or displays to
their booth without prior consent from KayDee due to space limitations. Artists may add display units (if approved) as
needed to display their product but cannot block the flow of traffic between
booths. Artists may have any tables
removed from their booth and may change the tablecloths with coverings they
provide.
6.
Artists are
responsible for collecting and paying their own New Mexico Gross Receipts tax
(if applicable). For any other questions
regarding business licenses, etc., please contact your personal financial
representative.
7.
KayDee will not
collect commission on booths or sales.
8.
Events shall be
held open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm. Artists are to set up the day of the event
between 7-9 am. KayDee may open an
additional setup time the day before the show.
KayDee will notify participants of this opportunity at least one week
prior to event. All artists must be set up by 9 am when doors open to the public. A member of KayDee must be present while Artists
are setting up. No Artists will be
allowed in the room without a representative of KayDee present. If an event is held for two consecutive days,
artists may leave their items in the room overnight. The room will be locked and will not be
opened again until a KayDee representative is present. If an artist chooses to
remove their items overnight, they must be in place again before the next day’s
show begins. Any artist that packs up their booth prior to 4 p.m. will not be
invited to participate in future shows.
9.
All booths
receive one free box lunch. You may
order additional box lunches at $15 each.
Payment for additional lunches are due the day of the show.
10.
KayDee will do
their part to promote each event—which may include flyers, printed ads, online
ads, signs and banners. Artists are also
encouraged to publicize their participation in an upcoming event to help
further promote visitation. Artists will receive a PDF file via email with a
flyer they can distribute to their customer list. Feel free to post on your Facebook page or
other social media sites.
11.
Payment may be
made in cash, credit/debit card or via PayPal.
Payment must be made in full at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Remember,
any artist that has not paid for their booth is not guaranteed their spot. Only full payment guarantees your booth is
reserved for you. Cancellations may
be made up to 30 days prior to an event can be refunded less 25%. Cancellations made between 30 days and 2
weeks of an event can be refunded less 50%.
Any cancellation made after the 2-week deadline will not receive a
refund. Any artist that does not participate in a show without prior
cancellation will not be invited to participate in future shows.
12.
Free drawings may
be held at KayDee events. Artists are
not eligible for any drawings. Artists
may contribute their work to the “giveaway” table to encourage participation by
customers. All contact and marketing
information collected from the drawings will be used solely by KayDee to
promote future events only. KayDee will
collect all “giveaway” contributions and take care of notifying winners of the
drawing.
13.
By participating
in a KayDee event, Artist agrees to allow KayDee to take photos of their booth
and place on KayDee website blog.
